Ray Ban was first established in the year 1936 when an American test pilot returned home from a balloon flight and complained about the sun permanently damage eyesight. His name was John A. Macready and he quickly reached out to Bausch & Lomb asking them to design sunglasses that protect the eyes of a pilot and also a sophisticated look. May 7, 1937, the first aviators ever born.
The first prototype was known as the "anti-glare." Drivers of the Army and police officers almost immediately taken to the style and made them a must have for anyone who is in the profession. Even at this day, a cop or pilot Halloween Costume is not complete until a pair of Aviators is included. Even Eric Cartman from South Park wearing a pair when he dresses in his uniform celebrated detective.
"Respect my authoritYY!"
You get the point. The only problem is, most people do not like cops, they do not look like one. Because of this popularity has declined in the 1980s. Ray Ban countered by signing a 50,000 dollar per year contract for the brand featured in movies and television shows. In the late 2000s, the Wayfarer design has exploded in popularity with British pop culture and American hipsters. Even I own a pair.
Today we present some gems from Ray Ban "Legends Collection." This line includes the Aviator, Laramie, round and Meteor. All designs come in several different color selections and they are all worth your time (both male and female.) Curiously, the Wayfarer is not included, but at this stage of Ray-Ban does not need advertising for this design, people will buy them regardless. Ray Ban collection Legends described as reinvention of four classical models, all offered in three colors of vintage lenses, seal the deal for "original look."
Everyone from Bob Marley to Bob Dylan wore Ray Ban. The Ramones, The Blues Brothers, Elvis Costello, they all carry a picture or another. Remember Tom Cruise in Risky Business? Tom Cruise is also credited as helping to make the brand popular with aviators in the movie Top Gun. Even Michael Jackson wearing Ray Ban. What credit over the street may need this business? Think about your favorite band. I have no idea who it could be, but my bet life on the fact that members have at least a pair of Ray Ban. So do yourself a favor and check out this new Legends Collection, your face will thank you.
